Hizbullah, the Lebanon-based terrorist organization that is arguably Israel’s most powerful neighboring threat, has in its arsenal drones and rockets that can deliver armed payloads as deep as 186 miles from Israel’s northern border. The information was provided by Israeli army head of counter-terrorism Brigadier General Nitzan Nuriel at a security conference on Monday. Nuriel said that Gaza-based Hamas is also well-armed and that global terrorist groups are uniting. He also claimed that Hizbullah agents have infiltrated into terrorist cells based inside of Israel. Retired Lebanese Army General Elias Hanna refuted Nuriel’s assertions in the Beirut Daily Star. He said drones require a technological infrastructure to operate that is beyond Hizbullah’s level of sophistication and undoubtedly does not possess. Nuriel issued a blunt warning to Syria, saying that any future evidence of weapons transfers to Hizbullah will be responded to “by destroying this government side.”
